Morning Warm-up

We were camping in Merriwa, a country NSW town during a festival called Running of the Sheep. I was up and about early one morning before the sun was up. It was cold and foggy and I caught this rider quietly walking his horse as they both mentally prepared for his event in the cow roping.

I sat watching them for a half hour or more, mesmerized by their calm.
