I was inspired by the Australian outback for this piece. I look at how drought has devastated our Australian landscape over the years.

As you travel around our country, there is little escape from the sadness. By portraying this, I then set up a contradiction in the viewers mind by placing a small yellow flower fighting the elements to stay alive. There is a beauty in it, and always there is hope.

This piece is oil paint on stretched canvas. The image wraps around the edges and it is ready to hang as is.
